KASHMIR EXPERIENCE

The trip up into Kashmir and seeing the landscape was enjoyable, the beauty of the hills and mountains was great. When I got to Srinagar, I was surprised to find the place was packed with Indian tourists. Of course, it was the hot season and temperatures had soared in the plains and cities like Delhi and Mumbai, so many Indian tourists were looking for places to escape the heat. The houseboats and hotels were filled except for a few. It seemed like India had rediscovered how nice Srinagar and the mountains and tourist spots of the area could be.

Srinagar Upon arrival at Srinagar Airport, you will be met by your Earnest Educational Tour Director who will assist you to your coach and take you for a 35 minutes drive through the heart of New Srinagar city to your hotel. After check in and lunch. We will spend the rest of the day visiting the famous Mughal gardens of Nishat and Shalimar. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
After an early breakfast, we will start our trek toward the hill which stands on the right side of the lakeside Boulevard, and walk up a wooded road that yields ever lovelier views of the Dal and the city below. We will climb up the Shankaracharya Hill which is a good 1,000 ft above the lake. This in itself gives mesmerizing views of Srinagar and those from the temple top are breathtaking. It's interesting to learn that this hill was originally called the Takht-i-Suleiman (Throne of Solomon). Later, when Adi Shankaracharya, in the course of his travels, stayed here, the hill came to be known after him. Refreshment and snacks on top of the hill. Reach the hotel by afternoon, in time for lunch. We will then visit Dal lake for some water adventure activities and Shikara ride. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
After breakfast in the morning, proceed towards Yousmarg. It is a small hill station in the western part of the valley. We will get to explore the mountain meadows where we will halt for refreshment and snacks. Later, we will trek to Doodhpathri. Lunch at Doodhpathri. Later return to Yousmarg by late afternoon for onward drive to Srinagar. Refreshment and snacks in the hotel. Evening free for leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
After an early breakfast, we will leave for Pahalgam. We will visit the Betaab valley. Later we will check into the hotel at Pahalgam and have lunch. Later, we will go horse riding and hike to Baisaran. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, we will depart for Gulmarg. En-route we will stop for our rafting adventure on Lidder. Lunch at the riverside. Later in the afternoon, we will reach Gulmarg. In the evening, we will go for leisure strolls around the valley. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, we will leave for Gondola ride to the top of Affarvat peak via Kongdori. We will spend the day visiting the mountain. After lunch, we will return to the hotel and depart for Srinagar. Upon arrival at Srinagar, we will check into our Houseboats and rest for the evening. Dinner and overnight in houseboats.
